Why Poona School and Home for the Blind?

147 students are currently admitted to the boys' school and 150 students are studying in the girls' school.

Our school educates students until the 8th grade and the higher grades are sent to nearby schools to pursue higher education.

All educational and residential facilities are given free of cost here. We use the Maharashtra State Bureau of Textbook Production and Curriculum Research syllabus for our students. Students are also trained to read and write in braille script.

We also use adapted devices such as writing slate, Taylor frame and other low vision devices meant for education purposes.

We provide braille books, computer training, mobility training, daily living skills, sensory training and physiotherapy as a part of their routine.

Special classes are conducted for scholarship exams for 5th & 8th students.

We boast of being one of the few schools that have a 100% passing result every year in SSC Board examinations.
